 PGO files indictments against six former policemen charged with crimes against Euromaidan activists, - PGO

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (PGO) referred to court cases of six former police officers accused of committing crimes against Euromaidan activists.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the PGO.

"Jan. 19, 2017, the Special Investigations Department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine submitted to the court indictments against former first deputy head of the Kyiv's Dniprovskyi district police precinct, Investigation Department chief, deputy chief and four investigators. Ex-law enforcers are charged with abuse of power, forging case records, illegal detention and criminal prosecution of 10 persons known to be innocent. Being in cahoots with prosecutors, the police officers held the activists accountable for alleged participation in the riots held in Kyiv on Feb. 18, 2014," the statement reads.

A member of Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, Dniprovskyi district deputy prosecutor, and two police investigators were earlier convicted of committing the same offenses. Dniprovskyi district deputy prosecutor was put on the national wanted list while the investigating judge issued arrest warrant for him.
