As reported by Censor.NET citing Poroshenko's press office, Ukrainian president congratulated António Guterres on having been elected U.N. secretary-general.
Petro Poroshenko expressed hope that António Guterres would firmly withstand basic principles and goals of the U.N. Charter, first of all, respect to sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
The president expressed gratitude to the U.N. secretary-general for his personal attention to the issue of IDPs in Ukraine at the post of U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees.
