 Pro-Russian militants opened fire upon Ukrainian positions 37 times yesterday, used 120 mm mortars, - Staff

Over the past 24-hour period, Jan. 18, 2017, terrorists opened fire in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area 37 times. Two Ukrainian soldiers received injuries.

Censor.NET is citing the report by the ATO Staff as of Jan. 18, 2017.

According to the Staff, the occupants shelled Talakivka using mortars, fired grenade launchers and small arms upon Slavne, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Talakivka, Novotroitske, Shyrokyne, and Vodiane. A sniper operated in Novotroitske area. Shyrokyne came under IFV weapon fire.

In Luhansk direction, Russian occupation troops employed 120 mm mortar to spray Novooleksandrivka and Troitske. Novozvanivka came under fire from 82 mm mortars. Stanytsia Luhanska and Novozvanivka were impacted by grenade launcher and small arms fire. The enemy also employed anti-tank guided missile systems to fire upon Novozvanivka.

In Donetsk direction, the enemy fired grenade launchers and small arms upon ATO forces' positions near Zaitseve and Avdiivka.

"A total of 37 cases of fire were recorded. Two our military received injuries," the ATO press center said.

On Jan. 17, Russian terrorists opened fire upon Ukrainian police officers in the Luhansk region.
