 Navy releases names of three marines killed in Donbas

The Ukrainian Navy has published the names of three dead marines whose bodies were handed over to the Ukrainian side earlier today.

Censor.NET reports citing the Ukrainian Navy Facebook page.

"The Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have suffered an irreparable loss. Our comrades Junior Sergeant Mykola Okhrymenko, Junior Sergeant Serhii Sonko and Senior Seaman Serhii Trubin died in the area of anti-terrorist operation in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, executing tasks to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. The marines defended their homeland until the last breath and completely fulfilled their constitutional duty. The memory of Ukraine's real defenders will stay forever in our hearts," the message reads.

The command of the Naval Forces of Ukraine expresses its deep condolences to the bereaved families and relatives.

Earlier, the ATO Staff reported three soldiers did not return to their unit in the ATO zone in the Donbas. The search lasted several days. Later it became known the three Ukrainian soldiers who went missing in the Donbas on Jan. 8 had been killed, their bodies taken by terrorists. Today, the marines were handed over to the Ukrainian side.
