The Presidential Administration later reported that the meeting of President Petro Poroshenko and Vice President Joseph Biden will be held in Kyiv on Monday morning, Jan. 16 instead of Sunday, as was planned earlier.
"Due to changes in the work schedule of the U.S. vice president, a meeting of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden will be held on Jan. 16, 2017 in Kyiv," the message notes.
The welcoming ceremony will start at 9 a.m. on Monday at the entrance to Horodetskyi House (10 Bankova Str.). Biden and Poroshenko will speak to reporters after the meeting, according to the presidential press service.
The White House has confirmed Biden's visit to Ukraine. The message said Biden will visit Kyiv and Swiss Davos on Jan. 15-18.
U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden concludes his tenure on Jan. 20 after the inauguration of Donald Trump with Mike Pence taking over the office.
