According to Poroshenko, no one in the country has heard of any problems around the launch of centers of administrative services.
"That's not even governor's job but mayor's or district state administration head's," he stressed. "This is government's new face. However, not in Odesa."
The president addressed newly appointed regional head Maksym Stepanov with a request to ensure that the Odesa center of administrative services operates in "exemplary way" when he visits it in a few months.
Poroshenko paid special attention to the situation around the Odesa airport.
"How many times did they promise us to complete it. There were three postponements. This year, not only the building of the airport must be completed. The reconstruction of the flight strip should also begin. I talked to the minister [of infrastructure] and asked him to launch a new tender, to allocate resources. Moreover, not everything should be done at the expense of the state budget," Poroshenko said.
The president emphasized a sharp increase in crime rate in the Odesa region, adding he would task the regional law enforcement authorities to restore order and get the situation under control.
Commenting on the construction of roads, Poroshenko said: "30 percent of funds allocated by the state were so painfully taken from other regions, from taxpayers and given to Odesa... The Odesa region has failed to spend over 300 million hryvnia ($10. 5 million) provided in the budget while [its leadership] only engaged in empty talking."
