Censor.NET reports citing the latest update by the ATO Staff press center as of Jan. 10, 2017.
According to the Staff, the invaders mortared Talakivka and Vodiane in Mariupol direction. Grenade launchers of various calibers were employed against Marinka, Vodiane, Talakivka, Hnutove and Shyrokyne; small arms - against Pavlopil, Shyrokyne and Novotroitske. Novotroitske was also fired at by a sniper while IFV weapons were used against Shyrokyne.
"A clash took place in the vicinity of Taramchuk. The attack was repulsed," the situation report reads.
The militants shelled Novozvanivka in Luhansk direction with mortars and anti-tank missiles. Troitske was fired at with grenade launchers.
The Ukrainian troops' positions on the outskirts of Verkhniotoretske, Avdiivka, Kruta Balka, Opytne, Luhanske and Zaitseve in Donetsk direction came under different caliber mortar strikes. The enemy also fired at Opytne with IFV weapons.
"A total of 49 attacks were committed. One our soldier was killed, two wounded, another one received injury," the statement reads.
As reported, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said the Russian-backed militants breached truce in the Donbas more than 750 times since the latest cease-fire deal entered into force on Dec. 24, 2016.
