As reported by Censor.NET citing the press office of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the gas blast and consequent fire damaged 18 square meters of a one-bedroom apartment on the first floor of a nine-floor building at 8:43 a.m. on Jan. 9.
The explosion destroyed walls inside the apartment No. 6, walls between the apartment No. 5 and No. 6, the door of the apartment No. 4 was smashed, the entrance interior and windows were also damaged.
As reported, the fire was taken under control at 9:15 a.m. and completely extinguished at 9:36 a.m.
The members of the State Emergency Service saved one and evacuated six people (including four children born in 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2013).
Four persons requested medical assistance. The cause of the explosion is unknown.
