Censor.NET reports citing the Security Service of Ukraine press service.
Ukraine has resorted to this goodwill gesture hoping to finally "unfreeze" the exchange of POWs stalled by militants.
"We are ready to make concessions here in order to quickly return our prisoners to their families," SBU chief Vasyl Hrytsak said.
According to him, Ukraine has also initiated an exchange of 58 terrorist-held hostages for 228 supporters of separatists.
"The Security Service of Ukraine will make every effort to ensure the swap will take place before the Christmas holidays [Jan. 6, 2017]," Hrytsak added.
