 Ukraine gets 55M euros in financial aid from EU

Ukraine has received the second tranche of the financial assistance of the European Union in the amount of 55.125 million euros in the framework of a financing agreement signed between the government of Ukraine and the European Commission in 2014.

Ukraine received the first tranche under this agreement in the amount of 250 million euros in July 2014. The Ministry of Finance claims the equivalent of received funds in the national currency as well as funds of the first tranche will be used to cover expenditures of state budget's general fund.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the second tranche comes after European Commission's assessment of reforms in Ukraine in the fight against corruption, public procurement, public financial management, public administration, administrative services, constitutional reform, harmonization of the electoral law and the law on financing of political parties.
