Donbas militant leaders to release two captive women "as goodwill gesture"

“DPR” and “LPR” militant leaders Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky announced their intention to hand over two Ukrainian female prisoners to non-affiliated MP Nadiia Savchenko "as a gesture of goodwill."

Censor.NET reports citing one of the militants' websites.

"We remain open to dialogue with the sane representatives of the Ukrainian people - MPs, public figures, journalists - who have true intentions as for the Minsk agreements implementation and tackling problems of the long-suffering Donbas. As a goodwill gesture, we transfer two women - Anzhelika Presniakova and Olha Svorak - to representative of the Ukrainian people Nadiia Savchenko on New Year's and Christmas Eve without additional conditions. We expect this step to intensify the process of our citizens' liberation from captivity so that they reunite with their relatives and friends in the coming year," militants Zakharchenko and Plotnitsky said.

As reported, MP Savchenko held a secret meeting with the "DPR"/"LPR" leaders in Minsk. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said that this meeting was not agreed with the agency. Savchenko later confirmed negotiations with the terrorists in an interview to the law enforcement agency.

Dec. 20, Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Andrii Parubii said Nadiia Savchenko was expelled from Batkivshchyna faction. The Verkhovna Rada also removed Savchenko from Ukraine's permanent delegation to PACE on Dec. 22.
