Ukrainian checkpoint set in Novoluhanske village to prevent illegal traffic, - volunteer Shovkoshytnyi

The Armed Forces of Ukraine established a checkpoint in the village of Novoluhanske in the Donetsk region.

This was announced by ''Narodnyi Tyl'' volunteer Rodion Shovkoshytnyi, Censor.NET reports citing his Facebook.

"According to the Anti-Terrorist Center (ATC) data, the village of Novoluhanske was registered as an area controlled by the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces. While it actually was a gray zone between zero checkpoints of both Ukrainian and militants' troops until yesterday," he wrote.

Shovkoshytnyi noted that the decree #415, which regulates all movement of goods in the ATO zone, allows every entrepreneur to deliver any cargo to any frontline location controlled by Ukrainian government.

''It means that the village became an artificial ''hole'', where caravans - at least 150 cargoes a day - arrived quite legally. There were no checkpoints in the village, so trucks were either loaded with cargoes or went on directly to Horlivka. This was a smuggling supervised by the ATC,'' the volunteer wrote.

According to Shovkoshytnyi, illegal traffic was under control of the SBU units, Dnipro1 battalion, 54th brigade, Phantom officers (State Fiscal Service of Ukraine), and others.

"Yesterday the Armed Forces of Ukraine entered Novoluhanske which was under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine according to the papers. It was neither forced, nor stormed. Ukrainian military just entered and established missing checkpoints. Caravans still have a right to enter Novoluhanske with valid transport documents," Shovkoshytnyi added.

As reported earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine established a checkpoint at the southern edge of Novoluhanske village on Dec. 23, following numerous requests of village residents, internally displaced persons, enterprises and self-employed individuals.
