 PGO investigates Right Sector, Bratstvo activists for murder of law enforcers during Euromaidan

The Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) investigates possible involvement of Right Sector and Bratstvo party activists in the murder of 13 law enforcement officers during the Revolution of Dignity.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Ukrainski Novyny, this is stated in the orders of the Pechersk district court of Kyiv added to the Unified Register of court decisions on Dec. 16, 2016.

The orders indicate that the Prosecutor General's Office is probing the murder of 13 members of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and Berkut riot police Feb. 18 - 20, 2014.

"The investigation of the mentioned criminal proceedings established that unidentified individuals committed premeditated murder and attempted premeditated murder of members of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and Berkut riot police during mass protests on Instytutska, Hrushevskoho and Khreshchatyk Streets in Kyiv between Feb. 18 and Feb. 20, 2014," the orders of the Pechersk district court of Kyiv read.

"The persons from among the Right Sector members, who occupied the 6th floor of Kyiv's Dnipro Hotel during and after the protests until January 2015, are checked for involvement in these crimes," the document reads.

All-Ukrainian political party Bratstvo members' involvement in assassinations is also being investigated.

Besides, the Prosecutor General's Office investigates for murder a driver of Honda with a rifle found in its trunk. The car was blocked by the activists on Instytutska Str. on Feb. 18, 2014, but was released after the intervention of MP Serhii Pashynskyi.

Moreover, the court sanctioned the investigators to obtain phone conversations of a protester, who testified during interview that he was firing shots at the law enforcers with Remington 870 hunting rifle on Feb. 20, 2014. The law enforcers identified two more persons of interest beside him.
