Court returns illegally privatized ‘Zhukov Island’ into Kyiv ownership, - Lutsenko

Commercial Court of Kyiv has returned 75 hectares of ‘Zhukov Island’ landscape reserve back into communal property.

Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko wrote on Facebook.

"The Commercial Court of Kyiv has returned 75 hectares of 'Zhukov Island' landscape reserve located in Holosiivskyi district to the communal property. The reserve was illegally privatized by the so-called 'Kotmist" service cooperative in 2007," he wrote.

"The case was heard by the courts more than once. The final decision of the Commercial Court (dated Dec. 15, 2016) confirmed the legitimacy of the prosecutor's claims. Thus, the decision of the Kyiv city council was declared invalid. It was also confirmed that the cooperative has no land title," Lutsenko added.

Kyiv Prosecutor's Office is working on the case.
