 Ukraine buys up to 9 million tons of coal from occupied territories annually, - Vice PM Kistion

The suppliers are Ukraine-registered companies on militant-controlled territories.

This was announced by Vice Prime Minister on ATO (anti-terrorist operation) and occupied territories Volodymyr Kistion on air of 24 TV channel, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.

"We receive up to 9 million tons of coal from occupied territories annually. It is mined there by Ukrainian companies registered in Ukraine and paying taxes to the state budget. There are many companies making business of coal deliveries. But certainly, it's very risky," Kistion said.

Kistion says the suppliers of the coal also include Ukrainian companies registered on militant-controlled territories.
