 Russian militants committed 18 attacks in ATO area yesterday, two villages came under fire, - Staff

The Russian occupation forces fired upon the Ukrainian troops’ positions in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone 18 times over the past 24-hour period.

Censor.NET reports citing the latest update by the ATO Staff press center as of Dec 14, 2016.

"The occupants shelled our positions in the vicinity of Krasnohorivka, Lebedynske and Shyrokyne in Mariupol direction with mortars of various calibers. Novotroitske and Vodiane came under attack with grenade launchers of various systems and large-caliber machine guns. Sniper attacks were recorded in Krasnohorivka and Novotroitske," the situation report reads.

According to the Staff, the militants shelled Krymske and Troitske villages in Luhansk direction with mortars; Popasna, Lopaskyne and Stanytsia Luhanska - with grenade launchers of various systems.

"The invaders employed mortars, grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns against Avdiivka in Donetsk direction. Luhanske village was fired at with large-caliber machine gun and attacked by a sniper.

"The militants also committed two attacks directly on the villages: Maiorsk was fired upon with small arms; Krymske - with mortars, anti-aircraft guns and large-caliber machine guns. A total of 18 assaults were recorded yesterday," the statement reads.

Earlier, the Russian occupation forces fired upon the positions of the Ukrainian military 15 times on Dec. 13.
