As reported by Censor.NET citing Radio Poland, this was announced by Lieutenant General Frederick Ben Hodges, the commander of U.S. land forces in Europe, after he discussed on Wednesday the details of the deployment with Poland's Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz in Żagań, western Poland.
Earlier this year, the general said the aim of the deployment was to secure peace in Europe and provide a demonstration of strength aimed at Russia.
At a Warsaw summit in July, NATO states decided to deploy four rotating multinational battalions of about 1,000 soldiers each to the alliance's eastern flank amid fears of potential Russian aggression.
Five months ago, Hodges said, a decision was made in Warsaw to move from guaranteeing the safety to deterring.
According to Macierewicz, one of Poland's tank battalions will be relocated to the east of Poland.
