As reported by Censor.NET, the detainee said on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"All these charges, the ones brought against me - it is always difficult to find excuses because placing the blame is much easier. I'd like to say that the Security Service and other agencies had no problems with me over six months but now they do. They had no questions to me and the witnesses regarding what is now written there and brought against me as we were undergoing the face-to-face interrogation. I guess we'll just start all over again," Beziazykov said.
He said he could not explain the reason why he was brought charges against.
"I was shocked myself the day before yesterday. It was a big surprise for me. I planned to continue serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There was some footdragging over the six months because I was under suspicion of the generalship of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They strove either to confirm or dispel it. Thus, this trial is taking place," the Ukrainian army colonel said.
According to Beziazykov, he requires medical treatment that includes a surgery.
As reported, SBU suspects Ukrainian army Colonel Ivan Beziazykov of participating in a terrorist organization. According to the law enforcement agency, he collected information about the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces after he was allegedly converted in the militants' captivity and the Russian military agencies provided him with a weapon, cash allowance, and a car with a driver.
The criminal proceedings were initiated under part 1 of article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (membership in a terrorist organization).
