The meeting, expected to be held later today, would discuss measures to confront "the worst humanitarian tragedy of the 21st century unfolding before our eyes," the ambassador said.
Today, Russia has again rejected calls for a cease-fire in Aleppo amidst the U.N. reports of civilians being massively executed and forced to flee the city. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said a cease-fire should start only after evacuation corridors are opened.
