Many 'interesting' documents found alongside Azarov's belongings, - Interior Ministry

In addition to personal belongings of ex-PM Mykola Azarov, police officers found numerous 'interesting' documents in a Kyiv apartment that are being studied, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov says.

He wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"In addition to paintings and portraits of Azarov, his pistols and swords, there are many interesting documents... we are studying them," the minister said.

Avakov said he would ask the investigation to pass the found things, including paintings of well-known artists, old books, and historical valuables, to a museum until the investigation ends.

The minister said that if property confiscation law was in place, it would allow turning Azarov's valuables in favor of the state, and expressed hopes the Rada would pass the bill in the near future.

Avakov thanked police officers for the operation.

Earlier, an apartment with belongings and valuables of former PM Azarov was found in Kyiv's Darnytsia district. The total worth of the valuables is several million dollars.
