Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko has read out the indictment to Opposition Bloc Vadym Novynskyi, Censor.NET reports.
The head of the PGO took the rostrum and reiterated available evidence of Novynskyi's involvement in Viktor Yanukovych's attempts to push aside late Metropolitan of Ukraine's Orthodox Church Volodymyr.
Lutsenko said these accusations were confirmed by testimony of witnesses.
The prosecutor general demonstrated personal e-mails of the metropolitan, who was trying to prevent the power grab within the Ukrainian Orthodox Church by people linked to Yanukovych.
Lutsenko named several dozens of witnesses to the case, including former Presidents Kuchma and Yushchenko, and other politicians.
Novynskyi is charged with illegal confinement of Metropolitan Volodymyr's secretary Oleksandr Drabynko.
After the indictment was read, Rada speaker Parubii invited MP Novynskyi to the rostrum.
