This was announced by President Petro Poroshenko at the awarding ceremony on the occasion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Day observed on Dec. 6, Censor.NET reports citing LIGA.net.
"This year was difficult for the army and the entire country. We focused our efforts on coercion of the aggressor state from its offensive in the Donbas, and in other directions as well. Our soldiers nailed the task, which is evidenced by the fact that the enemy was forced to focus its efforts on interior destabilization of our country instead of another offensive," the president said.
Poroshenko also recalled recent missile tests held in the south of Ukraine.
"One thing is that Moscow got a bit nervous. It means we did it right," the head of state said.
It was reported earlier that Russia threatened with retaliatory strikes if Ukraine conducts missile tests near Crimea.
