As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) press center in its report as of Dec. 5.
According to the Staff, the occupants employed mortars, grenade launchers, and IFV weapons against Shyrokyne, Krasnohorivka, and Vodiane. The enemy opened mortar fire upon Luhanske village and fired large-caliber machine guns upon Opytne.
"After 6 p.m. the occupants started shelling our positions from 120 mm mortars in Luhansk direction. Balka Kosharna and Krymske were impacted by the fire. Grenade launchers were used to spray Troitske and Stanytsia Luhanska," the message reads.
The press service says the following areas were shelled from mortars, grenade launchers and small arms: Shyrokyne, Talakivka, Pavlopil, Novomykhailivka, and Taramchuk. Vodiane came under IFV weapon fire, while Avdiivka and Zaitseve were impacted by grenade launcher and small arms fire.
"Nine cases of shelling were recorded prior to 6 p.m., and 17 more after 6 p.m. till midnight. The vast majority of the cases involved 120 mm mortars," the ATO press center added.
On Dec. 4, Russian occupation troops opened fire upon Ukrainian Armed Forces positions 26 times.
