This was announced by the regional police spokesperson Mykola Zhukovych, Censor.NET reports citing 112 TV Channel.
Apparently, two State Security Service officers and two police intelligence officers were fatally wounded in this car. The car has been evacuated.
The fire apparently was carried out by the KORD special squad.
Zhukovych stressed that both security service cars that arrived on the scene had markings, and all the policemen were wearing body armor and special equipment. All squads were in their special uniform. "Two crews (six people) from the security service were involved in the incident. So far I cannot tell the number of the Kyiv police representatives," he said.
According to him, the State Security Service may not have been aware of their colleagues' raid: "There are different operations, and different departments may not be warned. The more people are warned, the more chances an operation can be disrupted."
The blast reported by the local residents was likely to be an explosion of a stun grenade, which was thrown under that very car of the security service.
All of the police officers were armed with the standard-issue firearms: both automatic and pistols.
Police promises to reveal other details in a few days, after all the participants of the incident are interviewed. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police created a special group which will examine all the circumstances of the tragedy.
Five police officers were shot dead in a fire exchange between members of different police squads in the village of Kniazhychi last night.
It was reported that the tragedy in the village of Kniazhychi happened during a special operation on apprehension of a dangerous group of criminals who committed robberies in the city of Kyiv and Kyiv region. The three violators were later apprehended by police.
