As reported by Censor.NET citing Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, on Dec. 4 at 4 a.m. in Kniazhychi village of Brovary district of the Kyiv region officers of the KORD special purpose police unit employed automatic arms against servicemen of Brovary police security of the Kyiv region. Together with two investigators of the National Police of Ukraine, who were on duty, they employed automatic arms in retaliation. As a result of the skirmish, five police officers were killed.
The pre-trial investigation is personally controlled by Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko.
Five police officers were shot dead in a fire exchange between members of different police squads in the village of Kniazhychi Dec. 4.
It was reported that tragedy in the village of Kniazhychi happened during a special operation on apprehension of a dangerous group of criminals who committed robberies in the city of Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The three violators were apprehended by police.
