The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) has asked the Prosecutor General's Office to bring to justice the head of the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) Nazar Kholodnytskyi. This was announced by PGO chief Yurii Lutsenko on air of 1+1 TV channel, Censor.NET reports citing LigaBusinessInform.
Lutsenko says SAP and NABU are in a state of conflict.
"Today, I received a letter from NABU with a request to bring Kholodnytskyi [head of SAP - ed.] to justice... Unfortunately, NABU is interfering with SAP. I hope we will be able to help these two respectful chiefs to cooperate and refer cases to court jointly. These are new institutions, new leaders, there are tensions [between them - ed.]. I do not want to be a part of this conflict," Lutsenko said.
The prosecutor general did not specify allegations made against Kholodnytskyi by NABU.
Lutsenko said he was not going to bring Kholodnytskyi to justice.
"I am not going into it. All I can do as a prosecutor general is holding work meetings with the two agencies."
