 Judge Ihor Petryk nabbed yesterday while accepting bribe was running for Ukraine’s Supreme Court head, - journalist

Kyiv Administrative Court of Appeal Judge Ihor Petryk, who was caught red-handed while accepting $5,000 in bribe Dec. 1, was a nominee for the post of the head of the newly created Supreme Court of Ukraine.

Censor.NET Chief Editor Yurii Butusov wrote on Facebook.

"A source told Censor.NET that Judge of Kyiv Court of Appeal Ihor Petryk was detained right in the courtroom of the aforementioned court when he was accepting $5,000 in bribe. Petryk runs for the post of the newly created Supreme Court of Ukraine," the journalist wrote.

Earlier, Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) Nazar Kholodnytskyi announced a judge of the Kyiv Administrative Court of Appeal was caught red-handed while accepting $5,000 in bribe Dec. 1.
