Russia is manipulating facts and spreading false information about the apprehension of Ukrainian "border guards-deserters."

Aide to the head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Oleh Slobodian said at a briefing, Censor.NET reports citing 112 Ukraine.

"We've had several such statements in the past two days, which indicates certain planned activities. They are intended to disorient Ukrainian border guards and servicemen. We checked this information and found it was false and contained elements of manipulation," Slobodian said.

"Citizen Okun is a deserter and has been on the wanted list since January 2016. Citizen Danyliuk was called up as border guard in 2015 and discharged in early April 2016. At the moment, he has nothing to do with the State Border Guard Service. Bilozerov is also on the wanted list and has nothing to do with the State Border Guard Service as well," Slobodian said.

Earlier, Russian media reported the apprehension of two Ukrainian border guards Oleh Danyliuk and Bohdan Bilozerov in the Rostov region.
