Russian reports of "Ukrainian deserters" are element of hybrid warfare, - State Border Guard Service of Ukraine

Russian media reports on the seizure of two Ukrainian deserters are a manipulation of facts aimed at discrediting the country.

Aide to the head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Oleh Slobodian said to Interfax-Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.

"This situation is yet another element of Russia's hybrid warfare against Ukraine. They are trying to discredit the military of both the armed forces and the border guard service. Here we have a clear manipulation of facts," he said.

Earlier, Russian media reported the seizure of two Ukrainian border guards Oleh Danyliuk and Bohdan Bilozerov in Russia's Rostov region.

According to Slobodian, Danyliuk was once drafted, but in April this year, he was discharged and has nothing to do with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The second "deserter" was convicted and is currently on the wanted list.

"He has nothing to do with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine as well," Slobodian told the agency.
