Cabinet decides on new algorithm of heating bills calculation

Bills for central heating services provided in apartment houses without heating counters will be calculated based on average city consumption data received from houses with heating counters installed and operating.

The decision was made by Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers on its session on Wednesday, Censor.NET reports citing the governmental press service.

This calculation algorithm is to be implemented for billing consumers for heating services in cities where at least 50 percent of homes have heating counters. The consumption data based on those 50 percent of homes will allow for calculation of approximate consumption in other homes.

The Cabinet has proposed heating companies to recalculate bills for heating services provided in October based on this decision.

The Cabinet says investment programs approved earlier should allow installing heating counters in many more homes by the end of 2016 and reaching the level of 88 percent for houses with the counters installed and operating.
