"I hope that there will be the necessary degree of responsibility and sense on all sides to achieve improvements," the German foreign minister said on Tuesday, Nov. 29 in Berlin before leaving for Minsk for a meeting of the Normandy Four foreign ministers.
Steinmeier also expressed dissatisfaction at the delay in the implementation of the Minsk agreements. He warned that the situation had deteriorated and said it was time to find solutions to get things back under control.
German's foreign minister said that the Minsk talks contributed to reducing hostilities and avoiding an escalation, dpa news agency reports. According to Steinmeier, the point is, among other things, to ensure a stable truce and resume the withdrawal of heavy weapons in the conflict zone.
As reported, the foreign ministers of Ukraine, Germany, France and Russia are going to discuss the implementation of the Minsk agreements during the upcoming Minsk talks on Nov. 29.
