"Russia’s hysteria makes no sense," - Turchynov refutes Russian allegations on missile-firing exercise in Kerch Strait

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov commented on the statement made by the Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia regarding "violations of the Russian airspace by Ukrainian missile weapons test."

Censor.NET reports citing the NSDC press service.

"Russia's hysteria about Ukraine's unilateral decision to conduct missile-firing exercise in the "sovereign air space of the Russian Federation" that violates all international agreements makes no sense," he said.

According to the NSDC secretary, the sovereign airspace of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea ends in the middle of the Kerch Strait under all international agreements.

"Ukraine has no plans to conduct missile-firing exercise in this area. The rest of the area west of the Strait of Kerch is the sovereign airspace of Ukraine," Turchynov said adding that Ukraine holds missile tests pursuant to international commitments and agreements.

"That's why we ask the Russian Federation not to hamper the missile-firing exercise by its hysteria and provocations," the NSDC secretary summed up.
