The city of Rostov-on-Don in Russia is seeing increased safety measures due to the scheduled questioning and news conference of fugitive Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych.

"Since morning, Rostov-on-Don has been seeing increased safety measures. Additional guard points have been posted in the city," the correspondent reports.

Police guards the entire perimeter of the regional court building where Yanukovych will be questioned. In addition to police officers, extremism fighters are seen in the area.

"There are more policemen here now than they were during the Savchenko trial," STB reporter Aliona Lunkova commented.
