 EU's Tusk expects sanctions against Russia to be extended by mid-December

European Council President Donald Tusk expects the E.U. to agree extension of restrictive measures against Russia before the E.U. summit in mid-December.

European Council President Donald Tusk said on Thursday that he expected the European Union to agree on a renewal of economic sanctions against Russia before summit of the bloc's leaders he would chair in mid-December.

Earlier, U.S. President Barack Obama and leaders of five European Union countries - German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy and British Prime Minister Theresa May - agreed to maintain sanctions against Russia until it fully meets its commitments under the Minsk agreements.
