European Council President Donald Tusk said on Thursday that he expected the European Union to agree on a renewal of economic sanctions against Russia before summit of the bloc's leaders he would chair in mid-December.
Earlier, U.S. President Barack Obama and leaders of five European Union countries - German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy and British Prime Minister Theresa May - agreed to maintain sanctions against Russia until it fully meets its commitments under the Minsk agreements.
