 Rada may take decision to prosecute MP Novynskyi next plenary week, - Speaker Parubii

Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii expects parliament to tackle the issue of stripping Opposition bloc MP Vadym Novynskyi of immunity next plenary week.

As reported by Censor.NET, Parubii said in an interview with Radio Svoboda.

"We are now waiting for additional materials requested by the procedure committee (Committee on Rules of Parliamentary Procedure and Support to Work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine - Ed.). I urged the prosecutor's office to submit these materials as soon as possible.

"I also instructed the procedure committee to make a decision without delay upon receipt of the additional materials. I hope that we will be ready for decision-making in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine next plenary week," Parubii said.

According to the Verkhovna Rada schedule, the next plenary week starts Dec. 6.

Parubii earlier said that Nov. 24 was the deadline for consideration of the motion to prosecute MP Novynskyi filed by the relevant committee.
