Verkhovna Rada Chairman Andrii Parubii and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan has met in Istanbul.

Parubii announced it on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"Today, in Istanbul, I held a constructive and strategic meeting with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. We discussed the economic and military defense cooperation between our countries.

"I stressed the need to maintain the blockade of Crimea as one of the important stages of international support for Ukraine and de-occupation of the peninsula. We discussed the situation around the Crimean Tatar people in occupied Crimea and importance of supporting the Crimean Tatars in the international arena. Turkey is a strategic partner of Ukraine," the speaker wrote.
