"They were supposed to be abducting other people on regular basis after me," – former FSB agent Bogdanov on his kidnappers

Former FSB officer Ilya Bogdanov said that his abduction was to be followed by a number of similar crimes.

As reported by Censor.NET citing 112 Ukraine TV channel, he said at a joint briefing with SBU Chairman Vasyl Hrytsak and Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yurii Lutsenko.

"The most surprising thing is that I am already a citizen of Ukraine and this is definitely a terrorist activity since I am a citizen of another country. It was an incredible feeling to hear talks of those GRU-operatives (members of the General Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation - Ed.).

"I heard how much they were excited with my capture, heard them ordering to murder me. I realize that they could have actually killed me, that I could have been drugged by substances they filled the syringes with. On the other hand, I am very proud that the SBU managed to prevent this. It's a major success to defeat that KGB mill. This is the glorious chapter in the history of the Ukrainian special services. It's really cool," Bogdanov said.

He also said that he learned from his abductors' conversations about similar crimes they plotted to commit in the future.

"I learned from their conversations, when the group leader was praised by the mastermind who was saying that he was an idea-driven person unlike those working for the money and that he understood whom and why he was kidnapping. They were supposed to be abducting other people on regular basis after me," he said.
