PM Hroisman promises to severely punish utility providers for overcharging Ukrainians

The Cabinet of Ministers intends to figure out the reasons for padded bills issued to Kyiv residents by Kyivenerho PJSC.

As reported by Censor.NET referring to Interfax-Ukraine, this was said by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman.

"When certain forces make attempts to destabilize situation and whip up hysteria, the people start receiving bills with completely fictional double, triple utility costs. We'll take it as a mistake. But I'd like the utility providers, power distribution companies, to make no more such errors against the Ukrainian citizens," Hroisman said at a government meeting on Wednesday.

He also added that the utility providers could face criminal liability for such errors.

"I am warning that if we see similar actions in other regions, we will severely fine those responsible. I think criminal responsibility can also be considered," he stressed.
