Censor.NET reports citing the SBU press center.
"In the anti-terrorist operation area, the members of the Security Service of Ukraine found unexploded cartridge produced in the Russian Federation for Smerch multiple launch rocket systems. The cartridge fell near a yard of a Berezove village resident in Marinka district of the Donetsk region. Having analyzed the ammunition marking, the military experts ruled that the militants were using 300 mm missiles with cluster warheads with fragmentation submunitions. Such cartridges are only produced in the Russian Federation and only trained military personnel can operate Smerch MLRS," the agency said.
The SBU officers in conjunction with the members of the Military Prosecutor's Office documented the use of Smerch MLRS and added this information to the evidence of the Russian aggression as part of the initiated criminal proceedings.
"These missiles contain 72 subwarheads with 6,912 fragments designed to damage unarmored vehicles and 25,920 antipersonnel fragments. The burst area of one cartridge of a 300 mm missile is 1,100 square meters. The marking ЗП -2-95 indicates production plant (in the territory of the Russian Federation, since Ukraine never produced these subwarheads), batch number and the year of manufacture (1995)," the SBU said.
