Oleksandr was drafted in July 2014. He was severely wounded six months later. After treatment, he continued doing his military service as a junior officer in the 128th Mountain Infantry Brigade. Otsabera was discharged in March 2015 and signed a contract with the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade. He received fatal injuries near Toretsk on Nov 11, 2016.
"We engaged with the enemy subversives when they attacked us. He received severe injuries which eventually caused his death," said Volodymyr Sikan, a companion-in-arms of the deceased soldier.
The hero was buried in his native village of Hurivtsi in Koziatyn district of the Vinnytsia region. He is survived by two sons.
