In the Mykolaiv region, Ukrainians pay last tribute to another fallen hero, an anti-terrorist operation (ATO) soldier Andrii Podlipniuk (nickname "Mamai") from the 54th separate mechanized brigade, Censor.NET reports citing Tetiana Barvinska's Facebook.
Andrii died in a mortar attack on Nov.11, 2016, at Svitlodarsk arch near Debaltseve. He was about to turn 40 years old.
Farewell to Andrii will be held this Sunday, Nov.13 at his home village of Slyvyne in the Mykolaiv region. The ceremony will take place at his house at 5 Pivdenna Str. It will begin at 12 p.m. After the church service, the hero will be buried at the cemetery at Velyka Korenyha (Mykolaiv city).
For those who want to say goodbye there will be a bus from Mykolaiv, departing at 11 a.m. from the "Mykolaiv" hotel.
Andrii Podlipniuk was born on Dec.10, 1976, in Mykolaiv city. He studied at the Mykolaiv Agrarian University as an engineer-mechanic. He was a private businessman. He lived in the village of Slyvyne with his mother. Andrii had a son Yehor, who lives with his mother in Crimea.
In Mykolaiv, Andrii joined the "Right Sector" and was one of the activists of the local branch of the movement.
"Andrii had been at war almost from the very beginning. He was an experienced soldier. He had served a year in the 37th Brigade, then signed a contract with the Special Forces unit AQL PS "Podolianyna Wolves" subjected to the 54th Brigade. He was a leader at one of the forward positions near Debaltseve. Andrii was reasonable and never took any hasty decisions. He was a good reliable friend and a cheerful person," Tetiana Barvinska wrote.
