"Cynicism of new provocations by Russian secret services starts bordering on absurd," – NSDC secretary

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov commented on yesterday's statement by the Federal Security Service on detention of the so-called “Ukrainian saboteurs”.

Censor.NET reports citing the NSDC press service.

"Yesterday, the Russian media published a statement made by the FSB, which continued spreading its drivel about the threat of total destruction of the Russian infrastructure facilities in occupied Crimea by Ukrainian saboteurs in propaganda campaign started back in the summer," Oleksandr Turchynov said.

"This time, the FSB members took into account mistakes they made during the summer provocation when the only evidence of the Enerhodar resident's membership in the Ukrainian special services was his face smashed in. The 'evidence base' was prepared carefully and in advance this time.

"The blue and yellow flag, a trident, and a visiting card of the Right sector so popular with the Russian media, without which, perhaps, no Ukrainian saboteur sneaks behind the enemy lines, were demonstrated as the 'irrefutable proof' that the captured civilians were Ukrainian saboteurs, but not the agents of the CIA, Mossad, or MI6.

"The idea of the experienced FSB analysts obviously was that everyone would immediately understand that the Ukrainian saboteurs brought national symbols to identify each other while the visiting cards served a reliable passes to sensitive military facilities that they intended to raze to the ground.

"The FSB experts also did not take long to address a more complex issue: the evidence of the "Ukrainian saboteurs" membership in the Defense Intelligence Agency. According to the Russian bone-heads, along with a huge number of explosives and weapons of different calibers, these guys brought to Sevastopol a plate with the symbol of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

"Now the idea that the Defense Intelligence Agency officers always take in raids the national symbols and souvenirs of their agency along with weapons and explosives will be imprinted in the Russian viewers' feeble minds tainted by the propaganda of the good old-fashioned sort. Just as the SBU operatives necessarily take a portrait of the Ukrainian president with his handwritten signature to a dangerous mission.

"As for the veterans of the Foreign Intelligence Service working under cover, they always wear satin trousers and red boots which, besides the patriotic inspiration, make it easy for them to hide on the background of red mugs of Russians peacefully "resting" on the pavement.

"We can continue discussing the senseless and insane provocations by the Russian secret services and inappropriate propaganda clichés of the media they control, but we must clearly understand that the lives of hostages who were captured and tortured, as well as coverage of the escalation of military aggression against our country are behind this," Turchynov said.
