Presidential Administration Deputy Head Kostiantyn Yelisieiev said on air of Ukraina TV station, Censor.NET reports.
"We expect that in February the president of Ukraine will carry out a visit to the U.S.," Yelisieiev said.
The official pointed out that Poroshenko did not express preferences during the U.S. election campaign either for Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.
"In his statements and speeches, the president of Ukraine has always stressed that we expect a bipartisan support from the U.S., both from Democrats and Republicans," Yelisieiev noted.
He added that the Ukrainian side is going to establish a dialogue with America's new leadership.
"We've sent first signals to Washington, in particular president Poroshenko has invited Trump to visit Ukraine," he said.
