Further delay in granting Ukraine visa waiver unacceptable, - Deputy Foreign Minister Zerkal met with EU Ambassador Mingarelli

Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister on European Integration Olena Zerkal and EU Ambassador to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli met on Wednesday to discuss the prospect of introducing the visa-free regime for Ukrainians and a number of other topical issues.

Censor.NET reports referring to the Foreign Ministry press service.

"It was emphasized that Ukraine has fulfilled all the criteria of EU's Visa Liberalization Plan for Ukraine, which is confirmed by a European Commission report of Dec. 18 2015... In this context, Ukraine expects the institutions and member states of the EU to make additional efforts to come up with a legislative proposal on granting Ukrainian citizens the right to short-term visa-free trips to the EU in the near future, regardless of the EU's harmonization of a mechanism for temporary suspension of a visa-free regime," the statement notes.
