"We are not going to insist on president's resignation. We will press for early [parliamentary - ed.] elections in order join in as a unified political force with a vision of radical but competent reforms. We'll introduce these people to society. Very soon, we'll announce it to everyone," he said, when asked what goals the Saakashvili's team set before itself.
Sakvarelidze believes the society still has a demand for reformers, with the current government having failed to live up to people's expectations.
"If Poroshenko's bloc and People's Front, which have lost public support, are allowed to freely earn and brazenly declare millions in cash, then, of course, election will take place only after three years, and these people will once again come to power. And voters will be bought for buckwheat, like cattle. We'll not let it happen and are set to fight against it.
"Early elections do not mean the victory of Party of Regions members. A field where Poroshenko's bloc and People's Front had to sow reforms is empty now. The only acceptable thing is a victory of a healthy unified political force realizing their unity is about ideology and not money. This is where we fundamentally differ from Poroshenko," the politician said.
On Monday, Nov. 7, Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili announced his resignation amidst complaints that he was tired of constant deception and corruption, including on the part of Ukrainian senior officials.
