 "I will neither criticize nor protect him," – PM Hroisman on Saakashvili’s resignation

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman says he is more concerned about the situation in the Odesa region than the resignation of Saakashvili.

Volodymyr Hroisman wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

He wrote: "Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili announced his resignation today. Well, it is his right and his decision. I will neither criticize nor protect him...

"I, as the Prime Minister of Ukraine, am now more concerned about the situation in the Odesa region. It will take at least a month to select a new governor under the current law, if the president accepts his resignation.

"In turn, I want to assure Odesa residents that I am going to personally monitor the situation in the Odesa region while it remains without the governor," the PM wrote.

As reported, Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili announced his resignation on Monday, Nov, 7 amidst complaints that he was tired of watching constant deception and corruption which the Ukrainian senior officials were allegedly involved into.
