A female entrepreneur was kidnapped by unknown persons when parking her Lexus near her house in downtown Odesa, Censor.NET reports citing UNIAN. This was confirmed by acting deputy head of National Police in the Odesa region Anastasiia Yakubenko.
"The kidnapping occurred at Mukachivskyi Lane when she was parking her Lexus near her house. Two persons got into the car, dragged her inside and drove away. The kidnapping was reported to the police by her son," Yakubenko said.
She said the incident happened Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. as the 54-year-old woman was returning home.
The police official said the criminal investigation under article 146 (Illegal detention or kidnapping of a person) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was initiated.
UNIAN additionally reported that the kidnapped woman is a well-known city entrepreneur and that kidnappers have addressed the family with a demand of a $200,000 ransom.
