 Kharkiv Mayor Kernes declares 11 million hryvnia income from company that receives City Council’s contracts

Kharkiv Mayor Hennadii Kernes received dividends from Finex-Capital Asset Management Company in the amount of 11,097,000 hryvnia (about $426,807) in 2015.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Kharkiv Anti-Corruption Center, this was stated in the financial statement submitted by Kernes and published on the website of the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption (NAPC).

Finex-Capital Asset Management Company LLC is the founder of DSK Uroven LLC, which regularly receives contracts from the City Council. For example, this company won the contract for the construction of a bikeway along the Bilhorodske highway worth 14 million hryvnia. This company also gets contracts for road repairs without competitive bidding.

According to the Government Procurement Bulletin, DSK Uroven LLC has won contract bids of the City Council departments, including Gorkogo Park renovation, totaling 197.13 million hryvnia from 2010.

As for the other entries in the mayor's income statement, he has declared 42 million hryvnia in cash, small savings in PrivatBank, and a collection of watches, including Patek Phillipe, Rolex, FPJourne, Cedrik Johner, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Audemars Piguet, Franck Muller.

Kernes also declared he sold property worth 4,270,000 hryvnia to Oksana Haisynska.

The Kharkiv mayor again failed to share information on his family members and companies which he was actual beneficiary of. He is still registered in the Unified State Registry as beneficiary of National LLC running the hotel of the same name which is the mayor's current residency.

Kernes also declared acquired securities and movable property worth 4,830,000 hryvnia.
