As reported by Censor.NET citing UNIAN, Presidential Administration Deputy Head Kostiantyn Yelisieiev said on air of Pravo na Vladu TV show.
"It is crucial for us that Ukraine obtains full control over currently uncontrolled section of the Ukrainian-Russian border on the second day after the local elections, as stipulated by the Minsk agreements concluded in February 2015," he said.
However, according to the official, the implementation of the security-related terms of the Minsk deal must precede these elections: Russia must withdraw its troops from the Donbas while the OSCE mission should gain sustained access to the uncontrolled sections of the Ukrainian-Russian border.
Earlier, on Oct. 19, the leaders of Normandy Four (Ukraine, Germany, France, and Russia) adopted proposals regarding the framework road map for the implementation of the Minsk agreements submitted by Germany and France.
"The Ukrainian proposal was first supported by our German and French partners while the proposals on a framework road map made by Germany and France were approved by the Normandy Four leaders today," Poroshenko told a briefing on the outcomes of the recent talks in Normandy format.
