Merkel expects no miracles from Normandy Four meeting in Berlin, - DW

German Chancellor Angela Merkel believes the upcoming Normandy Four meeting in Berlin will hardly bring any tangible results.

As reported by Censor.NET citing Deutsche Welle, Merkel does not expect much progress in talks on resolving the Donbas crisis and Russia's airstrikes on Syrian Aleppo.

Tomorrow's meeting is unlikely to bring miracles, but a dialogue should go on even when views differ, Merkel said.

She added that given the "catastrophic" situation in Syria all possible options are being considered, including the introduction of new sanctions.

As noted, the war in the Donbas and the signing of a road map for the implementation of the Minsk agreements are viewed as the key issues of tomorrow's meeting. However, given a large number of civilian victims caused by the recent Russia and Assad's bombings, the Syrian issue will also be raised.
